Boston: Shipping Hard To Pack Items

April 18, 2013 by admin

“Throughout the year, my work takes me to some pretty remote locations. I’ve gone to Ghana, New Zealand, and Morocco, all in the past 18 months.” Stephen is an environmental scientist. “There’s just no way I can bring all of the necessary equipment on site myself. It’s too bulky and heavy. And all of this stuff needs to be handled carefully. If my equipment is broken, it’s no good to me – and you can’t exactly find replacement parts for this stuff when you’re out in the field in Ghana!”

Shipping scientific testing equipment, medical and diagnostic equipment, or computers presents numerous challenges. The difference between having your gear arrive safely at your desired location and dealing with the frustration and stress of broken equipment lies entirely in how well your shipment is packed. For best results, you’ll want to trust your gear to the experienced shipping professionals.

Here at Boston Pack and Ship, we have over 20 years experience packing delicate electronic items to travel safely and intact to destinations ll around the world. We know what it takes to do the job right. Our Custom Crating department designs and builds superior wooden packing crates and durable cardboard shipping cartons that maximize the protection for your hard to pack items.

We also offer a range of packing materials. Specific to high value electronic items, foam in place technology is an innovative solution that significantly reduces the risk of damage to fragile electronic items during the shipping process. When Foam in Place is selected, your delicate electronic items are wrapped in a protective, moisture-barrier film. The item is placed in the appropriate shipping container, either a custom build wooden shipping crate or cardboard carton, and an expanding foam is piped into place. This foam forms a hard, protective shell around your items, cushioning and protecting them throughout their journey.

"At a minimum, we use Boston Pack and Ship on a monthly basis to ship servers and other IT hardware for new projects as well as existing expansions. Besides the care they give to the product being shipped, Boston Pack and Ship’s customer service from beginning to end is stellar. They consistently follow up and if there are any issues, they take care of them promptly. Boston Pack Ship, by far, is the best and safest way to get your shipment from here to there and not have to worry about it arriving in more pieces than it left."
