“I’m excited about going snow shoeing with my husband, I really am,” Brandi said. “And it was very thoughtful of John to get me all the gear for Christmas. I’m sure we’re going to have a lot of fun. But until we go, I’m wondering where I’m supposed to keep all of this stuff?”
Sports gear, outdoor furniture, and other seasonal fun stuff makes life enjoyable. But where do you put these things when you don’t need them? Many Boston area homes are on the smaller size – there’s simply not enough room to keep everything in a tidy and organized way. But you don’t have to live with clutter, and you don’t have to live without your stuff.
The solution is renting a secure storage unit. “Think of it as your off-site closet,” Brandi said. “For me, it’s a place to put the snow shoes, the ski poles, the snow pants, the heavy winter coat – all the gear I will need to have fun, but that I’m not going to need on a day to day basis. If John decides to surprise me with a trip to the mountains, I just have to pop over the storage unit, unlock the door, and get my stuff out. When I’m done with it, I can put it back. It’s all well-lit, clean, and maintained. Everything’s easy to use and secure.”
“We have three kids in sports,” Brandi added. “So I can already see where having a designated space for the soccer stuff and the basketball stuff and the swim stuff and the softball stuff will come in handy. And honestly, it’d be nice to have a place to hide the kid’s birthday and Christmas presents where little snoops won’t find it.”
Secure storage units in Boston are available in a variety of sizes. “We chose the second smallest size, because I knew I wanted to put the kids’ bikes in there and get some space back in the garage,” Brandi said. “Sports are a big part of our life. But our house doesn’t need to be full of all of this gear!”
