“My partner and I both work in healthcare,” Beth said. “We have four children, between the ages of four and eleven. Everyone’s involved in sports, dance, or other activities. Every minute of every day is scheduled. And…our careers demand frequent moves. I’ve learned that the best way for our family to handle this is to hire a packing service.”
What Is a Packing Service?
A packing service wraps, boxes, and packs all of your possessions for moving. A packing service can be associated with your Boston moving company, or it can be a stand alone service. Be aware that many moving companies won’t accept liability for boxes packed by other organizations, so if they have their own packing service available, it can be easier and faster to use theirs.
“What I’ve found is that professional packers are ten times faster and much more organized than we could ever be ourselves,” Beth said. “Things like getting all of the dishes and cookware packed up can take days – believe me. But with the packing service, the entire house was packed and ready to go in an afternoon.” Beth’s family owns many books, toys and electronics. “Prior to having the movers come, we work with the kids to determine what they want to bring with them to our new home and what can be passed along or donated. Everything they want to keep gets piled on the bed: the packers take it from there.”
Once the boxes are packed and labeled, the movers load them and the family’s furniture and appliances into moving trucks for the next destination. “I really appreciate having everything unpacked as well,” Beth said. “It costs a little more, but it’s totally worth it to get to a new house and have your kids instantly be able to find their favorite things. Plus I appreciate being able to get that vital cup of coffee right away!”
