“I don’t have a lot of stuff, so I hadn’t really thought about getting in touch with a moving company for my small move,” Don said. “I just figured I’d throw everything in the hatchback and it’d all be good to go. But there was just one problem with that plan – my dog, Solomon.”
Solomon is an All-American mutt. “I know his mother was a Golden Retriever, but the jury’s still out on who his father may have been. The one thing we do know is that he was a big, hairy dog!” When he sprawls out, Solomon takes up a lot of space in Don’s car. “That’s not normally a problem, but if I’m also trying to get all my gear in there?” Don said. “It’s suddenly a problem.”
Rather than trying to force Solomon into an uncomfortably small space for a cross-country drive, Don decided to have a Boston moving company move his stuff and leave more seat space for his dog. “There’s no realistic way to have someone transport your animal for you,” he said, “but your clothes and furniture and books and stuff – that’s all stuff you can delegate to the pros.”
Choosing a Boston moving company for his small move had one extra bonus Don had never considered. “I totally got out of having to load all of my stuff up and then unload it again at my new digs. Sure, I had to unpack the boxes, but all the lifting and carrying? Somebody else’s problem. All Solomon and I had to do was watch!”
