“The reason people love antiques is because they’re one of a kind,” Brandi explained. “You can’t just go get another one just like this one, because there’s not another one just like this one.” She patted the antique sideboard waiting to be shipped cross-country to one of her customers. “So yeah, I worry pretty much constantly from the moment an item leaves my shop until I know it has arrived safely.”
Custom Crating for Shipping Antiques
“When you’re shipping a larger piece of antique furniture, you want to have it crated,” Brandi said. “Believe me, I learned that the hard way. Wrapping your furniture in moving blankets and taping it up in a cardboard box is not enough protection. I lost an end table that way. Never again! Now I go to Boston Pack and Ship and have custom shipping crates built for the antique furniture I ship to my customers.”
Custom shipping crates are built to order. Each one is sized to provide the optimum level of protection while keeping shipping costs to a minimum. All of our custom wooden shipping crates are built in accordance with common freight carrier requirements.
Let The Experts Handle the Shipping
“I’m an expert at what I do – but what I do is find fantastic furniture for people who like very old things,” Brandi laughed. “When it comes to shipping antique furniture and collectibles, I don’t try to pretend I’m an expert. I got to a Boston shipping store and have them handle the entire process. They package everything securely, handle all the paperwork, and let me know when it’s going to reach my customer. All I have to do is sit back and wait to hear it’s arrived safely. Since I’ve started working with Boston Pack and Ship, my stress level has dropped around 2000%.”
