The holidays are getting closer by the minute. So much of the fun of the season is finding the perfect gift for loved ones far away and sending it to them, a delightful surprise delivered directly to their doorstep. As your Boston shipping company, we’d like to share our tips for shipping holiday gifts that wow!
Tip number one is to think visually. What is your recipient going to see when they open the box? When you use a large enough shipping box and the right packing materials, you’ve got plenty of room to send brightly-wrapped presents complete with sturdy bows. Choose wrapping papers that will appeal to your recipient’s interests, or choose classic holiday motifs: either way you’re sure to put a smile on their face. Packing material should support and surround your wrapped packages, keeping them cushioned from being damaged.
Tip number two is to keep an eye on the calendar. Presents that a little early are welcome surprises; those that come late can make the recipient feel like they were maybe a little forgotten or overlooked – not at all the intention you want to convey. They say if you want to do something right, ask a Grandma. One of our most expert customers is a Grandmother of eleven. She’s in here every year shipping presents early – the first boxes go out before December 1st, because some of her grandchildren live on military bases in Germany. “Last minute express shipping is great when you need it,” she said, “but you can save a lot of stress and money by getting your holiday shipping done early.”
Tip number three is to think strategically when choosing gifts that need to be shipped a long distance. Cashmere shawls travel much better than crystal champagne flutes. Of course if you know a fragile item or expensive high tech gizmo is what will make your loved one’s holiday, we’ll help you find a way to ship it safely!
