If your household is you and your dog – or you and your cat – planning your next move doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether you’re moving across town or across the country, Boston Pack and Ship can help you make your small move simple and stress free. Here’s what you need to know:
We can’t ship your pet for you. Believe it or not, people do ask us this question regularly. None of the freight carriers allow the shipment of live animals, and honestly, it wouldn’t be safe, comfortable or enjoyable for them. We can’t coordinate the transportation of your pet – but we can help with everything else.
The Small Local Move – a top choice in the Boston area, where people relocate regularly. Our friendly, professional movers will arrive at your old place, load up your boxes, and deliver them to your new residence quickly and efficiently. Make the process stress free for your pet by arranging for them to spend the day in doggie daycare, with a pet sitter, or wherever you normally board your animals.
Be selective when you move. Pets have possessions of their own, but you may want to downsize before you move. Pet bedding, if it’s in good condition, should definitely be moved to your new place – it will help your cat or dog feel comfortable faster. Any items that are damaged, dirty, or have seen better days are probably better off being replaced than moved.
Find a new vet before you move. If your small load move is far enough that you’ll be needing a new vet, it’s best to start the search for a new one before you move. The stress of moving can cause pets to experience anxiety which can manifest in physical symptoms like puking or problem behaviors. Your vet can work with you to help you get your furry friends back to normal fast.
