"What I'd really like to be able to do is find a moving company that can do everything for me … [Read more...]

Help Your Parents Downsize

July 7, 2016 by admin

"Mom and Dad have always had a large home," Ellie said. "But they're retiring now, and moving from Boston to Florida. The house down there is much, much smaller - it's almost half the size of their home here - but my parents are having a hard time understanding that that means all of their stuff just won't fit." Helping your parents downsize in preparation for a move into a smaller home can be … [Read more...]

Boston: Moving Life Science & Biotech Companies

April 14, 2015 by admin

The news that Genzyme is moving to a new, larger headquarters in Kendall Square reinforced Boston's reputation as the place to be for life science and biotech companies. As companies grow, they need more space, whether that's into new construction the way Genzyme is doing it, or into an existing vacant biotech space, as many start ups do. Moving the life science or biotech company can be a … [Read more...]

Record Breaking Snowfall Makes DIY Boston Moving Nearly Impossible

February 10, 2015 by admin

Even the strongest of the Boston Strong are having a tough time with the weather lately. Storm after storm has dumped a record shattering 70+ inches on the city, closing schools and even the T. Sidewalks and streets are in many cases still clogged with snow - you can make it through, but barely. "My Mother always said I had terrible timing," laughed Margaret. She's in the process of packing up … [Read more...]

If the Olympics Do Come to Boston I’m Moving!

January 12, 2015 by admin

Some people are thrilled beyond belief that the Olympics may be held in Boston in 2024. I am not one of those people. Having already lived in one Olympics-occupied city (Atlanta, 1996) I've absolutely no intention of going through that experience again - especially now that we live in a post-9/11, post Boston marathon bombing world. The increased traffic, construction and security measures will … [Read more...]

"I used Boston Pack & Ship to send an antique drop-leaf table that had been my mother's and four Windsor chairs that my father had made, an antique blanket chest and two large framed (with glass) photographs. I had no special instructions, but all the items had huge sentimental value - they were all special to me and were now being sent to our oldest son who had just bought his first home. So it was important that they arrive safely. Both Bill and Joe were very friendly, up front with the fees and service provided and the process went just as they described. I might not have thought any more about it, but when the furniture arrived, our son made a point of calling and saying how nice the movers had been and said that I should feel comfortable recommending them to anybody in need of their services."
