Leaving the Empty Nest Behind: Seniors & Small Moves

December 19, 2018 by admin

"Personally, I find the whole idea liberating," Marilyn said. The 78-year old Charlestown resident has recently decided to sell her home and move to a smaller place. "My children are grandparents now. They're having the big gatherings at their place. I can visit them - and enjoy not having to worry about the expense of keeping this big house up." Marilyn downsized extensively before her move. … [Read more...]

South Shore Shipping: Get A Free Quote for Your Small, Local, or International Move

November 15, 2013 by admin

One of the hardest things about planning a move - whether you're moving across town, across country, or all the way to the other side of the world - is figuring out the costs.  Moving companies are notoriously tight-lipped when it comes to providing accurate, reliable information about what they're going to charge their customers. Hidden fees, add-on charges, and other surprise costs can make your … [Read more...]

The South Shore Small Move: Save Money, Less Stress

October 22, 2013 by admin

"When I was younger, I tried to look at each move as a new adventure. The places we'd go! The people we'd meet!" Lolly M. laughed. "But after you've relocated 3 or 4 times, some of the shiny wears off. Now, I want the moves to be quick, simple, and stress free." Lolly and her husband, a surgeon, have kept their lifestyle 'purposefully minimalistic' due to their frequent moves. "We have what we … [Read more...]

Are You Paying Too Much To Move Your Stuff?

June 10, 2013 by admin

"Man, I never knew how expensive moving was!" Randi laughed. "I guess being a military brat just sort of blinds you to the fact that civilians have to pay to send their furniture halfway around the world." Now that she's on her own, Randi has retained the military-inspired tendency to travel light. "It's just me, and I only have what I consider to be the essential stuff: a bed, a dresser, a … [Read more...]

Boston: Making Small Moves Simple

Strategies for Making Small Moves Simple Choose a Boston moving company that specializes in small moves. Boston: Planning Your Small Move

March 18, 2011 by admin

Some people are fabulous movers. They have the entire endeavor down to a process, and know how to reduce their entire life into a cluster of small boxes, handy bags, and seamlessly move from city to city without a trace of stress. Other people might have a little more difficulty. What separates the two groups? For a long time, I thought it was experience levels - obviously people who grew up … [Read more...]

"I needed to bring a few pieces of furniture from my parents' home in Connecticut to my home in Watertown and move a few additional pieces to Bethesda, Maryland. This was not a large project, but complicated to arrange. I had to go to southern Connecticut in order to meet the moving truck, which involved coordinating my schedule with their availability and then arrange for the drop-off at each end of the move. In spite of my schedule constraints on my part, waffling (on my part) and the overall complexity of the task at hand, Joe Fell [of Boston Pack and Ship] was invariably helpful, responsive and patient. In the end, the move went smoothly and I very much appreciated their efforts."

I used Boston Pack and Ship to send an antique piece of furniture from Boston to Sedona, AZ. I can't say enough about their service and the quality of the packing. Item arrived on the day they said it would and was in pristine condition. Easy to work with and great customer service. Highly recommend.

I hired Boston Pack and Ship to move two items from my storage unit in the Boston area to my home in Florida. Gene Sullivan was 110% responsive. He picked up the items on time, packed them expertly; and they arrived in perfect condition about ten days after pick up. I could not ask for better service. Five stars is not enough!
